My husband lives in Costa rica and i live in canada (pr). We want to apply for the family class sponsorship, but we were wondering if applying for a travel visa first was risky.
Ive read so many experiences where they wont grant one to someome who has a spouse in canada (because they dont think theyll go back to their country of residence). Also have read that applying for one and getting it denied, then applying under family class, makes it look like that person is just searching for whatever way to get into Canada desperately.
Just hoping to receive some insight on what might be best to do first.

chances of visitor visa approval is LOW....because the visiting spouse has more ties to Canada than country of residence and more likely to overstay......visitor visa approval or denial won't have any serious effect on spousal sponsorship.......your spousal sponsorship will be approved based on the proof of supporting documents and the genuineness of your marriage/relationship.
