Hi everyone,
I'm very new to this. My boyfriend and I started communicating in 2009 through friends. Lost contact...finally met in April 2014 at a wedding. I went to Jamaica 5 times between April 2014 and last trip was for New Years 2015.
Anyways, we applied for a TRV in March 2015 so he could come visit for 2 weeks. We got denied in April 2015. He went to the VAC in Montergo Bay to apply initially. We hadnt heard back from them and the dates we asked for had passed, so I emailed the VAC and told them I was pregnant and the dates were flexible. Next day, I check online and the application status have been changed to say it had been reviewed and sent back to him. Then we got the declined package in the mail stating the same thing voer and over. His reasons to stay in Canada were stronger then those go to back to Jamaica. The email might have been a bad move on my part.
I want to reapply, as it would be nice for him to come to my baby shower in August (yes, I am having it after the baby is born - average wait time for JA TRV is 30days) and meet some friends and family and his boy!
He will return to Jamaica! I'd like to spend time in Jamaica this winter with our baby away from Canadian cold.
His mother and sister need his help. Maybe I should include this in a letter next time?
He also recently paid for a part time business course that starts in Sept 2015 and ends june 2016 to prove he will go back. He also opened a Jamacian bank account in JA funds.
As I stated earlier, he applied in person through the VAC in Montego Bay.
With the obligatory forms, we also included a letter from his work, my work, my bank info, Letter of invitation, travel insurance for 2 weeks.
Do I simply reapply? Do I mention previous application and number? Should I appeal insead of reapplying? What else should we do? Please give advice!
It seemed so simple to apply for TRV but now I am Worried!
Thank you
