Hello,

I am a permanent resident of Canada, had moved 1.5 years ago. I wish to apply TRV for my parents. I have few concerns related to the financial support and proving their strong ties to the home country.

Strong Ties concern:
My dad is working, so his employment letter and tax papers can easily be provided, Also, he has a property on his name, so he has better ties than my mom. She is a homemaker and doesn't have any individual savings bank account or investment. Also I am the only child, so they don't have any dependent. Should I apply TRV for my mother first giving impression to the visa officer that my mom would return to my dad and then apply visa for dad or Should I apply for both of them together?

Financial supporting concern:
There are two accounts that are in good standing and I would like to mention:
1. My dad has a joint account with me with around 16000 CAD balance.
2. My mom has an account with around 12000 CAD but this one is joint with her mother, my mom being the primary account holder.
I wonder can I show statements of the above two accounts as financial supporting for their visit, though I would bear all their expenses here?

I would really appreciate if someone could answer my questions, have been very confused of how to move ahead in it.
Thanks!

Hi,

Strong Ties concern:
You can apply for their visa together, showing a tentative itinerary of 2-3 weeks, if possible provisional return ticket. If you can show your mother's family ties like you mom's siblings then it can be an add on.

Financial supporting concern:
You can show statement of both account as well as your Invitation Letter shall mention that you would bear all expenses, supported by your bank statements, NOA or T4 (if employed).

Good Luck

Thanks a lot for prompt reply. Have a quick question about what you said. How can I show my mother's family ties, from what I could remember there isn't any document which lists her siblings, only her passport has her mother's name.
Thanks again.

Your mother would be dependent on your father. So, your father would be the primary applicant and he'll show all his savings, house/property and salary proofs, your father's statements will show that the family has a regular income. You can also attach mom's saving.
If you try to apply for your mother alone, you cannot show you father as her "home tie" as children are seen as ties, not spouses.

You can mention this and may add proof (like Government Document showing their relation) in Letter of Explanation.

Some of ties you may include are:
- Ownership of real property (real estate) and/or highly valuable tangible property
- Ownership of a business/investment/etc.
- Relationships to people (e.g.: family, spouse, children, community, etc.)
- Responsibilities (e.g.: professional job, student, caring for parents/children, community leader, etc.)
- Miscellaneous (dependent on person to person)
