TRV Extension in Vancouver

I'm an Indonesian and I'm going to Vancouver for an exchange program at UBC. I'll be staying for 4 months from January to April. But then, I will move to Guelph for a Globalink research internship at the University of Guelph (I was told I don't need a work permit and I don't need an eTA). Right now, I have a TRV for studying under 6 months, so I have to extend my TRV. Can I extend and activate the TRV in Canada and how do I do it? And can I apply for a multiple entry visa? Any info or tips would be very useful

You cannot extend TRV within Canada, but can extend stay with a visitor record.

The fact that you are doing 2 programs back to back may create problems. How long is the internship?
