Hi all, great forum to try and share experiences and advice with all of us trying to navigate the visa process efficiently and effectively. I have tried to figure out my situation on my own, but there are a lot of variables so I'll try and sum this up shortly.

1) I am an American citizen here with a Temporary Resident Visa valid until Dec 28, 2011. I have a college degree and was admitted to research job opportunities and possible schooling. I am living with my girlfiend, a Canadian citizen, and we have been together for 1 year

2) I have decided to go for schooling and have selected a program that only requires secondary school experience, so I am assuming I will get in and get acceptance letter, etc. The program starts January 2012

3) I want to also marry my girlfriend while here and eventually obtain PR status, to facilitate working and domestic tuition.

So, my questions are these:

1) I plan to apply to the school (George Brown in Toronto) and then get my Student Visa. I am aware of the Dual Intent clause and do not intend to hide anything on my application. I also will apply for an Off Campus Work Permit with my student visa. Is everything ok with that?

2) Better to get married before or after applying for Student Visa?

3) I want PR status as soon as possible because the program I am applying for is a 6 semester/3 yr program. It would be nice to pay domestic fees for as much of my schooling as possible. I assume it would make working easier as well. Better to apply inland or outland to achieve this as quickly as possible?

4) Any other issues anybody with experience think I might have overlooked?

Thanks in advance for any help, and if there is anything about my post that needs clarification, please let me know!
