It can help. E.g. if there is a doubt on any entry/ exit stamps while checking passport, the trip ticket or boarding pass can be of some use.

My suggestion is just to keep them handy but don't take them out of the envelope unless the officer asks for it. The officer only made a comment on one of my trips to the US because I only stayed there for less than 24 hours. I told her that we crossed the border to go to the outlet mall for that day and she was fine after. I was then told that I should receive my oath invite in 2-4 months.

I think they will only ask and check for what ever you declared on your physical presence document that you sent them. So that will be 6 years prior to the date of your application date or since you became a PR.

Mine took about 5 minutes or maybe less. Just answer all the questions properly and make sure you have all the original documents with you in case they ask for it. I think the main purpose of the interview is to check if you can really speak and understand one of Canada's official languages.
