Hi guys

I did my medicals in december to get some of the conditions on my work permit removed . I applied for PR in feb . Would i get a medical request for CIC when the time comes or will the skip that part because my medical results are already on file ?

Upfront Medical Exams are valid for 1year. If your application processing goes beyond 1year (From the date medicals are done) then you will get a new medical request.

Work permit medicals are different from PR. Same medical results can't be used for both. You will receive mail from CIC to undergo medicals once you clear eligibility (this is the trend).

Actually, the same medical results can be used for work permit and PR as long as it is still within the one year validity period. I used the same medicals from my work permit application for PR.

This is related to medical so thought of posing a question here.

Can seniors or people who went through medicals suggest on below ?

For PR : would a person having positive (+6) protene/glucose in urine but no sugar/glucose in blood based on 2 times tested as a part of general health check, be rejected or accepted ? No other major health issues. In general protene/glucose should be negative in urine. Family physician says nothing to worry, blood test is final for confirming sugar in body, not urine test.

Hi SenoritaBella,

Did you do an upfront medical for your work permit? I am planning to do an upfront medical for my wife spousal open work permit, which I will apply online. I will upload the IMM 1017B and keep the original.

We will apply for PR later, and when we receive medical requests, I will just submit the same 1017B for my wife medicals. Would you think this will be valid? Thank you in advance for your seniorly advice/comments.

Yes, I did upfront medicals for my work permit.

When you get the medical request for PR and provided your medicals(from work permit application) have not expired, go to the same DMP that did the one for your work permit, show him/her the medical request and ask him/her to report the same results using your file number.
