I'm a post-graduate work permit holder living in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. I expect to get my ITA (481 points) in today's draw, but have to still apply for FBI PCC as I have stayed over 6 months totally in the US since 2007. I will be applying for the FBI PCC immediately this week, and submitting my e-APR to CIC towards the 60 day deadline with a letter of explanation so I have enough time for getting the PCC after submitting the e-APR.

However, I'm confused about one thing. As I live in Windsor, Ontario on the Canadian-US border, I cross the border almost twice a week to go to Detroit, Michigan. Also, my father is a US citizen living in San Francisco and I am visiting him for 6-8 weeks next month.

Would that create any issues with the FBI PCC and e-APR application? I read somewhere that FBI PCC should be obtained after your last visit to the U.S. but I obviously cannot wait until August/September when I return from San Francisco to apply for the FBI PCC because I need to submit the e-APR to CIC in the next 60 days showing the receipt of the FBI PCC request.

Apply in such a way that an FBI PCC report is generated after you leave US (visiting your father).

Again, approximately how many weeks would that be after the submitting the PCC application? 8? 10? 12? 14?

Around 12 weeks. Keep it to 11 weeks to be on safer side. Follow this thread.
