I am an international student from Pakistan and I have received my study visa for Canada. I have been taking online classes since a year now because of Covid, but my classes will be in-person in January now so I will go there then. I have NOT visited Canada on my study visa yet. I will be going to Canada for the first time in January. Instead of flying by plane to Canada, I want to go to the USA first, and then go by CAR to Toronto, Canada.

I want to know if it is important to travel by air the first time we travel on our student visa? Or is it okay if I travel by car? Would there be any issues for students travelling by car? And specifically from the US to Canada too? My plan is to go to NY first, and then travel to Toronto by car. Just want to make sure there will be no problems since this would be my first time entering Canada on this study visa.

It doesn't matter. Car is fine. Just make sure you leave yourself enough time in the US to take the required COVID tests before entering Canada.
