If you apply inland travelling abroad is not recommended at all. If you apply outland you can exit and enter the country as you wish, but that still means that they can deny you entry if they feel like it.

Canada is the world's second largest country, though, so I'm sure you can find something to do within the country until your application is approved. :)

In Canada or Out of Canada? In-Canada and you leave there is no guarantee that the applicant will be re-admitted to Canada.

If you applied inland (are having it processed in Canada), then there's some risk involved with leaving the country. You can't be certain that you will be able to enter Canada again and if you can't come back to Canada, then you will lose the inland application and will have to reapply. There is no rule that says you're not allowed to leave, but it's not recommended.
