Traveling with a child

Dear forum members,
Could you please help me with a decision based on your experience:
I got my COPR and now planning to land in Canada in January next year. I have two children and a spouse who's non accompanying. We initially planned that I will move to Canada first, settle down, find a job and then sponsor my family. My kids got COPR too, and now I'm thinking of taking the eldest one (6.5 years old) with me. The major reason is that I want her to start school in Canada.

My question - what are the risks of taking a child to Canada for the first time? Like, would it be harder to find an accommodation and a job? Did you have the same experience and what would you advise?

School does not run all day so you will have to be prepared to pay for childcare after school and perhaps before school. It can be around $300-700/month and you must pick up the child be exactly a certain time or you are charged by the minute. Usually $10/minute. Depending on your job it may be difficult to commute and arrive at a certain time like 5pm or 5:30pm. If your child gets sick do you have friends or family to support you?
