I have applied for immigration under CEC. I am currently on a work permit, and planning to travel for 1 month outside of Canada in the Asia. I have read somewhere that you might not be allowed to come back to Canada because you have applied for CEC and your temporary status will be expired
.
Is that true? Is there anyone who has applied under CEC and have traveled outside of Canada.

Thanks a lot!

I've continued to travel without any problems :-)
I'd also checked with my lawyer who said it was fine
I'm on a UK passport

hkhan,

As long as you have a valid work permit, and a valid temporary resident visa, you can continue to travel. Without a visa, you won't be let back into Canada, except from the US.

Thanks a lot for the responses. Is there anyone who has actually traveled?

I have traveled to the US and I was fine coming back :)

Yes
I went to Europe

If you're on implied status you can't leave the country, because you'll lose that status and can't continue working when you come back. Other than that, if you have a valid work permit and visa (if required for your country), there are no issues and it won't influence your application.
