I am planning to apply for Post-Graduation Work Permit on Jan 15, 2017. And I am considering traveling back to my home country between Jan 20 and Feb 12. My study permit expires in Dec 2017 which is one more year to go.
My concern is what if the work permit gets issued before Feb 11 and I didn't hold it at hand while entering the border, what I have is my study permit (not sure if it's still valid at that point) and TRV (also expires in Dec 2017).
Found answer below on cic website similar to my question but it doesn't fully explain my concern if work permit gets issued before I come back to Canada.
Quote: "May I leave Canada before my request for a renewed or initial work permit has been finalized?
Yes. However, you may not resume working in Canada until your application for renewal is granted. If you wisht to go back to work immediately upon your return, you may re-apply (either at the port of entry if you have the right to do so, or at a visa office) and pay another processing fee to receive a decision."
Can anyone help me out please?
Thank you!
