Hi everyone,

I'm filling out the application for PR under CEC and the info requested is:

"Provide details of any trips [full name] has taken outside his/her country of origin or of residence in the last ten years (or since his/her 18th birthday if this was less than ten years ago). Include all trips: tourism, business, training, etc."

Now the questions here is: should I include all my entries between home country x Canada, or only other countries that I might have visited?

For example, since I first landed in Canada a few years ago I went back home quite a few times, as well as traveled to different countries (from Canada). So should I include everything, all visits to home country or simply the other countries I've been to?

All the answers are much appreciated :)

I believe all the countries you went to and this includes trips made to your home country as well

"Provide details of any trips" So yes, put them all in. Doesn't matter if you departed from your home country or from Canada.. They want a list of every country you have been to in the last 10 years (Canada included).

Yea it says "any trips the person took", but it also mention "outside their country of origin or of residence". They got me thinking on this second part lol

Yes thats right. So you don't need to list the trips that you took back home. For example, if you left Canada to visit home and came back, you will have a couple of trips to Canada in a row. If you left Canada and went to the states you will have a trip listed to the states in between 2 Canadian trips. If that makes sense?

Ahhhh okay. Yes, it does make perfect sense. Since I'm not a resident in Canada yet, I add trips from home country to Canada

Thats correct. You have to add every trip that isn't to your home country, including Canada.

Yes, make sure you enter specific dates too. I just got a rejection today simply because of a very minor issue I feel CIC could contact me on. The date I entered on the address/personal history form (for a period my hubby lived in a country) is different from what I have on the police certificate - as per CIC rejection reason.

I entered 01 Nov to 01 Sept of another year, whereas the dates on my passport and on the police certificate is 24 Nov to 30 Sept of the following year.

Unfortunately, I do not have access to my address/personal history form again as I felt I entered those dates correctly. Again, I am not sure and can't remember again if the format allows specifying date.

Could anyone who hasn't submitted her/his profile confirm this (date format in address/personal history form) please - will be appreciated

The format is YYYY/MM/DD. When I did my application I took screen shots of all the pages before submission to have a record of exactly what I submitted. This was for proof and also for my own sanity if something went wrong. It can also be handy if you get rejected and have to re-submit.. you just have to copy everything back into the next app.. after fixing any errors of course.

Thanks so much @fireal.jon. So I made a mistake of entering wrong 'days'. Actually, the first police certificate I submitted has an error in date from the country- they mistakingly wrote 2008 as the date I arrived whereas it should be 2007. But I later submitted a correct one - though unfortunately they made a mistake the 2nd time altering a letter with a pen (changed 8 to 7 in 2008). I also had to reapply for a third police certificate which now has the correct dates that tally with info on my passport.

The main issue now is could it be that CIC has used the first police certificate I submitted. I was suspecting this as I have read on the forum that CIC can make a mistake of not using the right document..

Any similar experience will be appreciated - as I'm considering writing them instead of reapplying.
