Hey so I will be travelling to Italy soon, and I need help with TD, my PR card as expired, but I want to leave within the next few weeks. What should I do?

Renew your PR card before you leave. If you don't you would need to apply for a PRTD from outside of Canada which is way more of a hassle. You should also only be leaving if you meet the RO.

And it says it will take 100 something days if I want to renew my PR card.

I am currently waiting for my citizenship but because of COVID that have decided to do it online or other ways (they still have specified) they told me to wait until I get my passport and there is no need to renew my PR card regarding my citizenship. My family is okay with me going to Italy for a while and we are currently waiting on it. Anyways this is affecting travel plans, how long is the processing times for a TD anyways here in canada. Thank you

You can't get a PRTD inside Canada. You must renew your PR card to travel.

OP does not need to renew the PR card to travel. OP can travel to Italy and then apply for a PRTD from outside of Canada to return.

Sure, if they are in compliance with the RO, but it will still be a hassle.
