Hey guys, so i'm hoping to make it back to england for a funeral. I have recently (Friday) been made a canadian Citizen. I won't have my PR card any time soon though. Am i ok to travel?? Or will i have problems getting back in??

i'm confused. if you were just made a "citizen" then your pr card wouldn't be valid. "citizen" and "permanent resident" are not the same thing, and citizens do not receive PR cards - only Permanent residents do.

do you mean you just landed as a PR and don't have your PR card yet, only your COPR? (in which case, you are NOT a canadian citizen. you are a permanent resident) or are you waiting for your citizenship to be finalized and you don't have a canadian passport yet? these are 2 separate issues...

If you have a UK passport, you should be allowed to visit Canada without a visa anyway, and once you're here, CBSA can see in their system that you are a PR. (Bring your COPR too just in case.)

Some airlines want to check that you are allowed to enter Canada (I believe the onus is on them to check before letting a passenger fly and if the passenger is refused at the other end the airline has to fly them back.) and I don't know, if you tell them you are a PR, they Might demand to see your PR card. I'm not sure it will be an issue with your airline or not. (I'm also visa exempt (Japanese) and Air Canada has never asked me about my visa when I boarded a flight to Canada from Japan. They probably assumed I was ok.) So I think it will be ok. Or should be ok - you should be able to argue your way through, because CBSA will know that you are a PR, even without your PR card.

You will be fine. Don't tell the airline that you are a PR and travel as if you are a visitor. When you get to Canada, present yourself as a PR to CBSA and just explain that your PR card hasn't arrived yet. They won't have any issue with it.
