Good morning,

I currently live in Australia and I was wondering, how acceptable are:

Certifications by an Australian Justice of the Peace
Translations by a Naati accredited translator

My translator always includes the following on her documents, is this an affidavit?

Certification: I, xxx, certify that I am fluent in the Spanish and English languages, that
I am accredited as a Translator with the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and
Interpreters (NAATI), Canberra, Australia, and that to the best of my knowledge and ability this is a
true and correct translation of the document presented to me in the Spanish language.

At Malvern East, Victoria, Australia, on this, the 22nd day of October 2013.

by the way, I should have highlighted that the text quoted has a stamp as well with her NAATI ID and her signature.

No one? I am sure many australians have applied... any feedback is appreciated!

Merry Christmas by the way ;)

Just in case.... this is the answer from the CIC

Dear Sir,

This appears to be acceptable and yes you can use a JP.
