Hello Everyone.

I wanted to share this with anyone who is requesting where to get documents translated from Spanish to English.

While I was getting all my documents ready, to submit my applications. I realized I had to get birth certs, marriage cert, and, police clearance certs translated into english and had to be notarized.
I looked around and found that these serivces can get VERY expensive. My cousin helped my find a place which is very inexpensive and does a good job.

Here is the info for anyone living in Toronto:

Interpretation and Translation (Spanish-English) We offer our clients support with interpretation and translation, from Spanish to English. Volunteer interpreters will accompany clients to appointments with doctors, social workers or lawyers. The service is free, but advance notice is required. To make a request for an interpreter, please call Carolina Morales at 647-776-2057.

We also offer our clients support with translation and certification of documents for immigration purposes. We are able to provide translation of the following documents only:

Birth and death certificates
Marriage and divorce certificates
Drivers licenses and identity cards
Criminal record documents
We request a donation of $5/document to help cover the cost of providing this service.

Hope this helps

Regards

Wow thats great, thanks!

this seems great - is this still available (I'm posting a year later...)

I went in March and they were still up and running! They have changed their price though, to 10 dollars a page.

wow....so much better than the $50 a page I paid......

All my translations cost me was a bottle of Irish Whiskey plus the notary fees!

that's still way better than the $100's of dollars/page I have read about elsewhere. Thank you!

Do you need to get the translations notarized? Or is a professional translator enough? Do you just go to any lawyer to get the notarization?

thats pretty good.

we got ours done in vancouver at a small travel office, the lady was one listed on cic's certified translator website and she only charged us 30 bucks for 4 pages!!.
:)
