Hello I am new here but I really needed some advice. I hired a lawyer in Canada to do my wife's immigration case from China to Canada last year. As we are almost ready to hand in everything and we have got all documents translated by an agency in China that works with the Canadian embassy in Chengdu. Birth certificate, police check all that is ok. Now when it comes to proving our relationship is real we have train tickets, and China bank statements all in Chinese. I asked the agency in Chengdu if they do this but they said we didn't need to translate this and only official government documents from China and Canada will be done. I looked for places in Canada who can translate and most places charge $20 per page and we have many pages. Most other couples said they never did this only the official documents.
My lawyer seems to think every little thing needs to be translated while past couples who have applied to Canada in the last 3 years said that those things did not need to be done.
Any advice right now?
