Translating documents with advertisements

Canadian sponsoring Taiwanese spouse. Can't seem to find this answer no matter what I search.

The bank and phone bills we want to submit have advertisements for their services, other products, etc. Do we need to translate these parts or only relevant information? Does it suffice to ask the translator to just write "advertisement" or "company policies" or "fine print". Otherwise, that's so much unnecessary work.

What parts of documents, especially bills, are absolutely necessary to translate for agents to find it acceptable?

That's an interesting question. I'd say you would only need to translate the parts that are relevant - the name, address, and the phone records that show the calls to Canada. for example. I can't see why you'd need to translate the ad.

You will be submitting a copy of the original document and if the ads are very obviously ads (they usually are) then it shouldn't be an issue.

However, this is just my opinion. Let's see what a few other people say.
