Guys, Need help.

I have Canada Work Permit & VISA. I need to book flight now. need to know if I need to have a Transit Visa if I book one of below flights?

Details are below:
Passport: Indian
Origin: Mumbai
Destination: Toronto
Connecting Flight Options are:
Mumbai-London-Toronto
Mumbai-Hongkong-Toronto
Mumbai-Newark-Toronto
Mumbai-Frankfurt-Toronto
Mumbai-Zurich-Toronto

You do not require any transit visa as long as u dont get out of the airport. Transit visa is only required if you want to get around the country/place which is not your destination.

For example if your flight is Mumbai-london-toronto. You dont need a Transit Visa for London unless u want to get out of the airport or stay in london for 48 hours. Transit visa is only given for 48 Hours

I am pretty sure about the Hongkong option. You do not require a transit visa for that. Not sure about others. I have travelled through Hongkong and I also hold an Indian passport.

I think this is not the case. I hold Indian passport. However, when I was going to NZ through australian airport a transit Visa was required even though I do not go out of the airport. So I doubt if he can fly through LONDON or NEWYORK without a transit visa even if he doesn't go out of the airport.

In fact Hong Kong allows 14 days tourist visa on arrival to Indian nationals.

That is how i came to Canada. I flew through London and transit was not required

Ok. Thanks for clarifying this. May be rules are different for each country for Indian nationals. I am very sure about Australia. If you fly NZ and want to transit australia you require a visa even if fly through the airport.

I can check this for you tomorrow as I remember reading that Australia too is now providing TWOV facility for Indian nationals.

Yes, thats what I was sure about. But I didn't know that Indian citizens do not require a transit visa for London and US.
