I will be moving to Canada soon and my home country is in south America. I have been living in the US and I was given volunteer departure but I never left for differentpersonal reasons and I was never deported My question is:

Once I move to Canada and I need to visit my home country almost,I know that almost every single airline company coming from Canada have to stop in certain US cities. Is that true that I will need a transit visa from the US? Would it be a problem for me to get one due to previous status in the US?

Please comments & experiences will great.

Yes you need a transit visa,Might be a problem,You use Airlines that go directly from Canada to Mexico or Carribean then transit to your home country.

AirCanada as direct flights from Toronto to Sao Paulo (Brazil). From Sao Paulo, you can fly to any other capital in south america (although if you are from a country north of Brazil, that would mean a huge waste of time).
