So maybe they deferred your application. Did you tell them to postpone your admission or cancel it? No matter what you need to extend your visa. You can't arrive with a permit that ends in July and show admission for August. That means you don't have a permit.

i applied for withdrawal of admission and they gave me refund...i have letter of correspondance and POE letter which we get when our visa gets approved..in those letters, it has been mentioned that i should reach to canada before 30 july,2018 to get study permit. my course was starting from 27 august,2017 last year then why they mentioned in those letters to come before 30 july,2018 to get study permit? that sounds i can go and get study permit before 30 july,2018 but my course of this year will start on 20 august,2018 so your point is valid that i may not get study permit for that course..but is it possible that i get study permit based on my valid TRV and then i can enter in canada to apply for extension ?

yes..but i read on cic that if our study permit extension is approved, we can apply for new TRV as per new study permit afterwards..my concern is if they refuse my extension and meanwhile my TRV also gets expired, can i come back to india with expired TRV? will they allow me to travel back to india?

TRV is a travel document that lets you enter Canada. No problems with exit.

The arrival by July 2018 was related to your Fall 2017 admission. If you arrive in Canada with a study permit that expires in July 2018 and you arrive in July 2018 for the first time they will ask for proof of enrolment in your course and proof of an extension. You don't have a study permit that covers your course.

ohh i see..so all those candidates who get deferal from september to next september intake for one year course can't fit into study permit extension after going to canada..am i right?

Not quite sure what you mean. You need another full yer of a study permit. You must have a study permit that covers part of your course when you enter Canada.
