do i request my university to issue new transcript in sealed envelope or give them the transcript i have and request them to seal it for me....it only the transcript and not the degree right?

It should be fine, if just envelope and seal is easy to get then entire transcripts , then go ahead and do it. My personal opinion is, that would be fine. But preference, if you have time and its easy to get transcripts, then try to get a fresh copy too, just in case otherwise as longer they are valid and verifiable, there isn't any problem for submitting old too. Just make sure your visa office specific instructions, if they need in sealed envelope, then follow the process.

That was also my question before but I went to my university a few days ago and they already have a form to fill out for requests such as this. I think it is better to request for a newly issued one in their updated university format. If you tell them to put it in a univ.-sealed envelope, they would do so as they are used to having these requests.

I reckoned I didn't want to risk submitting the transcript that I have and lose it in the mail or whatever. Besides, it's already brownish in color. My school now issues them in a more reader-friendly format with an updated school seal

I recently did mine from peshawar university, they wont issue new one but will attest and stamp it as (Degrees found correct) and then three stamps / seal from different officers. If you ask them for the fresh transcript than they will chop duplicate on it. This is what we have procedure in peshawar. And one thing more for asking for fresh transcript you also need to show lost report.
