Hello lads, a friend of mine, ask me a question which actually i find for interesting, simply because can't find the proper answer. So with a hope i ask here;) .Long story short he lives and travel around the globe so he intends to visit Canada. The procedure for tourist visa clear, completely, but, can he apply from any embassy instead of one's who actually incharge for his country ? For example he is German citizen, but currently in England's soil,is he can apply trought a Canadian embassy in London or must be trought a Berlin one's ? Cheers folks, thanks in advance :)

Please read the CIC website about who needs a visa and who doesn't require a visa to visit Canada! FYI, German citizen does not need a visa to visit Canada.

Hello there, indeed apparently you miss the part of the sentence which iv been writing : ..." for example if it's a German citizen..." As i mentioned, wouldn't ask a question which exists in FAQ.Thanks for the effort but im afraid your answer didn't help me at all :). Sorry my bad, by chance iv been miss the bloody "IF" in my previous post :( a thousand pardons dear

There is a case where a Indonesian national who works in China and applied her Canadian visitor visa in Shanghai instead of her home country. She got the visa but took longer than the posted processing time. So does that help you at all? :)

Aye sir :) your answer is much appreciated, Cheers

hello IR. the application for the visa will have to be lodged at the embassy of the country in which your friend is currently residing in. if he intends to go home soon then he would he need to file his application or in case of an online application submit his passport at the CHC at his home.

IR, you friend can apply for a visa from his home country and also from the currently where he is currently residing. He wll need to provide a proof of his legal status .

To give you an example.. I am an indian citizen and was visiting Australia for 6 months on a tourist visa. I applied for a candian tourist visa from Australia and was asked to provide a proof of my tourist visa in Australia. There is also a question in the forms that asks about this !!

Hope this helps.
