ok so I got married with my wife in Costa Rica in june, we are going through the sponsorship process, going to send the papers and all that this week (hopefully) but I was wondering if the embassy would allow my wife to travel here to canada with a tourist visa? 2 years ago she applied to come here on a tourist visa but they denied her.... Would they still deny her now that she is married with me? is it worth even trying to get her a tourist visa? thanks

It's always worth a shot. And even if she is denied, this will in no way hurt your PR application.

However the fact that you are now married will likely reduce the chances of the visa being granted (since your marriage means that she now has even more ties to Canada and fewer to her home country).

But again, doesn't harm to try if you want to. All you will lose is the time, effort and money to submit the visit visa application.
