Hello, I have a question for my friend here in the US.
His family of 4, are living in the US on H1B and also has EAD/ AP document with them.
He and his wife are Indian citizens and two kids are US citizens.
They were planning to fly from US to Vancouver, stay in Vancouver for 1 night and then board a cruise to Alaska next day., and then fly back to US directly from Alaska.
They applied for tourist visa online but it was refused unfortunately. FYI, they were called for biometrics though, but eventually got a refusal. Also, that they do not have any relatives in Canada.
The reason mentioned for refusal is that the officer does not think that the purpose of their visit to Canada is consistent with the temporary stay given the details provided in the application.
Needless to say that he did provide all the documentation including financial status, his and his wife’s job details etc in the US.
He did provide the details of his EAD/AP, but did not provide his details on H1B.
Also , few years back he did create a profile on the CIC website (and submitted it) to apply for Canadian PR via express entry. His application expired eventually few years back, and he never got any ITA etc.
Has anyone experienced a similar situation?
Should he consult an immigration professional and try again?., but wondering what different information can he provide in the second attempt?.. applying with the exact same documentation seems to be risky … maybe apply in paper this time ?
FYI, the status update for biometric acceptance and visa refusal happened on the same day/time for him., which was a little odd..
Please advise …
Thank You!
