Got my TRV approved with my passport with stamped visa back. 5 years (length of passport validity), multiple entry. I cited my family reunion as my purpose of travel.

I don't know if there's any relevance with the progress (or lack thereof) in my PR application. I don't think there is, although I declared my ongoing PR application in my TRV application.

Congrats! That's great. Hopefully PR comes soon too!

^ Thanks! Likewise at you! I think you are close, per your last GCMS!

I was hoping against hope they'd at least check my PR app during my TRV app (I even submitted my medicals from PR)...no such luck. :P

So this is how a PPR feels like. :P

Oh I know what you mean! I was so happy when my husband's TRV was approved thinking: this is a great sign, PPR must be on the way, otherwise, why would they give him this extended visa for Canada. But it's been almost 6 months since then and no movement on PPR :(

Just out of curiosity, I got the GCMS notes for my approved TRV and PR applications, and...they were pretty unspectacular.

Only reference to my PR application in the TRV GCMS was "pending PV2 application"

And in the PR GCMS, there was a note "TRV recently issued" prior to approval.
