do CIC expects you to write total points for your immigration somewhere. I dont see that asked for in any of the document but think would be better to wirte the combination of points in cover letter.

comments please

Its preliminary step for the CIC officer to check your application and count the points of eligibility, and there is no place holder in application to provide Points.

Better to include points and the explanation of the same in Covering letter.

Thanks. Will write that in cover letter. Are you guys using any specific cover letter format ? My idea is to write points in bullet format on ms word and print it - thats it

What cover letter are you talking about???
I've never heard of something like that before and didn't send any!

its not complusory , but in case where you want to explain something to CIC which is not clear in form a cover letter should be used. E.g. my wife address is different in identity card and different in marriage certificate so I have written in cover letter that marriage was done near her aunt's home and they put that address instead of her own.
