toefl vs IELTS

Can anyone plz suggest which is better TOEFL or IELTS? (for masters).
i have seen almost all university website and came to understanding
that toefl is also accepted.But will there be any problem during visa
if i have taken TOEFL instead of IELTS?

plz do suggest me..iam worried ..because i thought doing TOEFL would be beneficial
in both USA and canada

IELTS IS SUGGESTED FOR YOU IF YOU PLAN FOR CANADA.....be on safer side...

If you Want to apply in Universities.. then u can opt also Toefl No problem in that...

I haven't seen any restriction anywhere, what they want is the proof of english language skills and IELTS and TOEFL both are world standardized. Initially, IELTS used to be done for Euorpian countries and TOEFL was for USA and Canada.

Go for one, in which you are comfortable. just make sure you do your best

If you observe the minimum requirements for any course relating to the english proficiency test, it is noticeable that the canadian universities are a little biased towards TOEFL. British english is used in canada and maybe thats the case. Although both tests are applicable, but i would suggest IELTS if you are yet to register.

Plus the chc strongly recommends (not a necessity) to send the IELTS score with the application as a supporting document for visa processing

In fact i gave the IELTS exam but did not send the score to the chc.....
