Hello, I'm a nurse in Ireland and my fiance is in Canada. Our marriage was fixed last year in India and due to covid it is not possible to visit there. Can I visit Canada and get married there in this situation. What should I do for that.

Do you have a TRV to visit Canada? Do you have a good relationship history in person or is this an arranged marriage where you haven't done much in person dating?

what you mean by TRV? We are in relation for more than 4 years
Do you have a visa or ETA to enter Canada depending on your citizenship? Being in a relationship can mean different things depending on the country/religion/culture. How much time have you spent dating in person? Have you gone on vacation together? Lived together? Have proof of a dating relationship for example pictures documenting both of you going out for meals, to celebrations, to attractions in your city, etc? Will your parents be attending the wedding if you get married in Canada? His parents? Will you have a more traditional wedding once covid is over? What ceremony would be considered your true wedding? If you are able to get married in Canada will you start living together in Canada and announce that you are married to all your friends are family? IRCC is aware that some try to do a court marriage to start sponsorship but don’t announce their marriage to their friends and family who think their big wedding is their actual wedding. This causes issues for sponsorship applications.
