Some applications for Cairo VO got the below ECAS update on 1st of Sep where others didn't:

3. We transferred your application to the "visa office name" on "date". The Cairo office may contact you.

(1) Does receiving this mean anything or a generic update?
(2) Does NOT receiving this mean anything (not all of us receive it).?

This is generic update in New Ecas format..Nothing to worry....

But what worries me is that I haven't got it while many others in Cairo VO got it couple of weeks ago, any reason why is this?

Depends on the VO, Sometime they update and sometimes they don`t.

But the VO should update ALL or don't update ANY, right?
But in my case some got updated, others didn't (me included) ... which worries me..

this is the new format that is being used now, so there is no tlu or Slu, its different now

My question is still, this should apply to all, but in my case, many applications (Cairo VO) got it two weeks ago, while some didn't, like me, why is that?

No need to worry at all. As long as your status is "In Process" that's all that matters.

Personally, I don't think it means much. For months I had correspondence with my VO and there was no eCAS update, and within the last month I've had several, with zero correspondence form the VO.
As long as you're "In Process", just relax.
