Hi -

There are a lot of discussion on the spousal sponsorship. I have gone through a lot of posts and have the following questions and would greatly appreciate any advise.

My Background:
I am a Canadian PR and an Indian Citizen. I have been talking to a girl for a couple of months and like each other and will be meeting her family and her after a couple of weeks to fix the marriage (so this is an arranged marriage). The marriage will potentially be sometime end of November/December.

I just want to know:
1) What are my options?
2) Should i go for a visitor visa first and in that case should we declare in the application that we are getting marriage (the engagement will be a couple of days before marriage) or it is better to apply with a friend as a reference?
3) Can Express entry be applied for the spouse in this case? Will it be better to apply before or after? How does it work for Inland/Outland and Before/After Marriage?
4) Are there any other tips/suggestions you can provide that we should take care of before the marriage to make sure the chances of process being successful are better?

Thanks again for all the help!!

Hello! I hope you could help me. My husband and I communicate through facebook messenger since the day He migrated to Canada and that was 4 years ago. So, do I need to print all our chats from 2012 up to now (2016) :o That would be so many if i'm going to print all of those. What's the best way that I can do? ANY SUGGESTIONS PLS :(

Please, stop spamming people's threads like this. It's very rude.

1. If she can get a TRV to visit Canada, you can apply to sponsor her either inland or outland. If she cannot get a TRV, then you will have to sponsor her outland. Outland is generally faster in any case.
2. To get a TRV, she has to provide proof that she will leave Canada. So she can show things like proof of a job, with a letter from her boss giving her time off; proof of a lease, mortgage, home ownership; proof of money in the bank and other investments; etc. - anything that will show she has ties to her home country. If she doesn't have much, and doesn't have any history of traveling outside of her country, I would not bother trying to get a TRV.
3. Express entry is not available for spouses.
4. Keep proof of all communication with her. So if you talk by phone, for example, make sure you have proof that you called her - calling cards that do not show the number called will not help. Keep all evidence of the arranging of the marriage. Have the kind of wedding ceremony that is normal in your and her culture - don't skip anything.

Hi -

Thanks for your response.

For applying the TRV, would you suggest declaring a friend as a reference or is it better to declare the spouse (even though the engagement is not fixed). I read in one of the posts that the latter has more chance of rejecting especially in case you give the reference of a PR holder.

Also, i found in the following post, that express entry is a valid option for spouses as well:

If she applies through Express Entry, you are not sponsoring her - she is applying to immigrate on her own. She can certainly try - if she qualifies, Express Entry will be faster, most likely.
