Hi Guys!!

I've improved my score and moved from 389 to 451.

We all know that IELTS is the most practical option to improve your score. It indeed is and everyone is recommending to improve your scores, however there is a catch.

Please improve your LISTENING component score.

The ideal score is 8 and above. You'll notice the score shoots up with 50 points. You get additional 25 points in Official Language proficiency and education and 25 points in Subtotal Skill transferability factors.

The other components can be 7 - Reading, writing and speaking.

You can add dummy numbers and play around with the score to check.

Hope this helps!!!

This is not correct. Unless you had a very low overall score.

@taffarel..

This is my as well as my friend's experience.

My age, education and work experience scores could not have changed, all I had is the IELTS. I attempted IELTS again after playing around with the scores aiming at 8+ in Listening component, and it did work.

Simple, you can use the CRS calculator and check!!!

This is correct.

8 in L and 7 in R/W/S is a CLB 9 score. This gives the applicant a considerable jump in Skills Transferability section along with assorted IELTS points.

You do not get "25 points in Subtotal Skill transferability factors" by improving your score. You get 25 point if you met the minimum requirements

You get 25 points if you meet the minimum requirements + additional 25 points if your Listening scores are above 8. That makes it 50 points.

You do have to meet other requirements for Education and foreign work experience to get those additional points. In a generic sense, it is true that CLB 9 maximizes Skills Transferability scores.

Yes I second that.
It is true.
I improved in ielts. L 8.5 R/S 7.5 and W 7. Over all 7.5. CRS. 475.
Previous score in ielts was. L 7 R 7.5. S 8.5. W 6.5. Over all band 7.5. CRS. 400

U can see overall is same in both. But CRS changed so much. :D :D

Good luck everyone.

Sorry, you are right. My apologies. If you have Masters and PhD, and foreigner experience with CLB 9 or more you will get more points.
But 75 ?

I don't know the details about how they provide score but yes I have masters. May be some combinations of degree age ielts etc they award higher score. All I could analyse is is got 50 extra for skill transferability and may be 25 more in ielts improvement. I might be wrong. But that's what I feel. I just filled my info and the system brought out this score

I just checked with score calculating tool.
That's exactly what happened.
Initial language score was 105.
Subtotal skill transferability was 50.

After IELTS IMPROVEMENT language score went to 130
And subtotal skill transferability went to 100

Hope that helps.
