Hi All,
I am new to this forum so apologies if I have created the thread under incorrect category.
My Work Permit was filed by my company via Canadian Attorney under GSS category on 30th July along with a request for open work Permit for my wife.
My Work Permit was approved on 13th August 2018, however my wife's work permit is still under process till date. It has now been more than a month and half since both our work permits were filed.
Questions that I have:
1. GSS states that they generally complete all applications within 2 weeks, even for dependents, so this such a big delay in my wife's work permit normal?
2. Since attorney has filed our permits I am unable to track or check status of the same online and attorney said that they have raised an inquiry with IRCC on 22nd August but are yet to hear back and normally IRCC takes several weeks to reply to such inquiries, is there any way to check the status of my wife's application other than asking my attorney?
3. My wife was ~ 4 week pregnant when we had the medical test for our work permits and we had duly informed the doctors at CDC about the same. They suggested that her X-Ray will not be done now and has to be done post the pregnancy, Can this be one of the reasons for delay or refusal?
Apologies for the long post but this long wait time and scare of getting my wife's permit rejected is playing havoc in my mind.
Thanks in advance.
Best,
Rohan
