Hi,
I am in confusion and need some clarity to decide my future plans. I am in US on H1b visa with my wife and one kid. I have good 16 years of experience in IT field. My father passed away long back and mother is staying in India. Though I have (married) younger brother in India, but my mother stays in different city. My ultimate goal to keep my mother with me, after few years. If I pick GC process in US, it will take forever to sponsor my mother, so that is not considerable option for me.
Other option is Canada PR, which I have not started it yet. When I was checking wait time on forums, it looks like parents are waiting for 6-7 years before they get they get their visa/PR. Am I looking at correct numbers ?
She is 64 at present. No physical problem except Osteo-arthritis and Thyroids and some old age signs.
If she comes on supervisa, are there chances that she may need to go back, during PR process for her ?
Any suggestions/opinion will be appreciated.
Regards

Yes - 6 to 7 years is currently the processing time (can be more depending on the country of origin). Although we are seeing processing times drop and it's possible they may average out around 4 years at some point in the near future. Also keep in mind that you first need to become a PR and work for three years in Canada (and file three tax returns where your income meets the low income cut off) before you can qualify - so that adds four years to the waiting time since you won't be able to apply as soon as you become a PR.

You can certainly apply to bring her to Canada on a super visa - however none of us can tell you whether it will be approved or not. The super visa allows her to visit here - not move here permanently. So yes, it's quite possible she may have to return to her home country to live there while waiting out the PR process.

Thanks.
This clarify lot of things. Seems like, there is no way to stay with her in next 3-4 years (permanently), considering that I do not have PR yet.

Just to think in another alternative, if she gets supervise, can she stay for longer time ? I know that first stay can be only up to 2 years. But if she goes out of country and come back within a week ? Will her supervise re-gain another 2 years ?
I am just trying to see, if there is any other possibility to keep her with me.

Whether she is allowed back into Canada after a two year visit and for how long will be up to the immigration officer she encounters at the border. So the short answer is that she may or she may not. Also keep in mind that there's never a guarantee that the original super visa will be approved.
