Time to receive acknowledgement that IRCC is processing application

We submitted an application for permanent residency through family sponsorship (spouse) class over a month ago. We have not yet received any acknowledgement that our application is being processed. Is that normal?

We understand that the processing time is 12 months for this type of application. But are concerned about not having received any kind of acknowledgement yet.

Does anyone have any experience on how long it takes from the time an application for permanent residency to receiving some kind of correspondence from IRCC?

Nothing to be concerned about. It takes 8-10 weeks to hear anything from IRCC after the application is submitted.

They received ours 8/21 and we just received acknowledgement of receipt this week.... but there are people who sent theirs to Sydney NS in July who still haven't heard anything. It varies. Don't stress.
