Time to process an immigration application under Express Entry

Dear all,

After submitting all the document (under FSW Express Entry) to CIC office, currently how long does it take for processing an application? I have already waited two months and still no news from CIC. The information will help me plan my upcoming months.

Did you get an aor in your MyCIC already? Was that last Jan2016?

Also please clarify CIC "office", you do mean online, right?

Expect PPR 4-5 months after AoR. Sometimes it is faster, complicated cases can take much longer.

Not hearing anything for the first few months is very common. Check your status on myCIC. Have your medicals changed to "passed"? That's usually the first step.

The office wanted me to send them a police certificate. I did my medical before submitting my application on Jan 1, and thus its status is changed to 'passed' in a few days. I sent my certificate already at the end of Jan, but the background check is indicated 'not started', and my eligibility is still 'under review'.

I sent my certificate already at the end of Jan, but the background check is indicated 'not started', and my eligibility is still 'under review'.

Eligibility will remain under review until the very end, and background check changes to "in progress" 1-1.5 months before PPR, sometimes even just before PPR.

In other words, everything is going as per normal with your appliation.

Depends on the reason for the refusal. If security concerns were involved, then most definitely.
