Hi,

I had a residency obligation appeal a few weeks ago (since I'm out of the country, it occurred over the phone). At the hearing, the IAD member did not render a decision but said I'd be informed later. Does anyone have an idea of how long it typically takes to get a decision after the hearing? Is it possible that the recent strike action by foreign service professionals is delaying my case?

Thanks!

The Immigration Appeal Division rules do not specify a timeline for this which is somewhat surprising. However there is reference to a decision being notified usually within 90 days as part of the tribunal process for dealing with appeals. This may allow the panel to review in detail the reasons put forward by the appellant. What were your reasons for the residence breach?
