Yes all timelines are out the window due to the large influx of refugees. No you will not be told how long you will wait. I would prepare not to hear anything for over a year in most cases.

Yes there will be an opportunity to add to your case before your hearing. No there won’t be any updates you will just have to wait until you are contacted about your hearing date. There are 70K asylum seekers waiting for gearing and they can only process around 20K per year although with new systems they are processing more. You should hire a lawyer. You will be given a work permit and the best thing to do is get a job while you wait.

In order to apply for asylum in Canada you need to get to Canada or you need to be referred by UNHCR for resettlement in Canada. There are millions of people waiting for resettlement but most will never be resettled. Getting a visitor visa to get to Canada is also quite difficult but you can try.

I can’t do visa because I’m out of my country and I don’t have documents right now, I’m stuck in country I don’t know the language and difficult for me, but if I make a file in UNHCR it’ll be easy for me to get to Canada, or there’s any other way or chance

No, getting resettled anywhere by UNHCR is difficult. There are so many refugees around the world wanting to be resettled and not many countries offering to accept the resettled refugees. Since many countries are getting more asylum seekers show up at their borders many countries are accepting less refugees through resettlement. The US also went from accepting the most resettled refugees to barely accepting any. If you are lucky enough to get accepted to be resettled you have no choice when it come to where you get resettled. Have you looked at the economic immigration programs? Those may be an option.
