My wife landed Jan 12 in toronto and is leaving the country for a couple months to get thing sorted out back home and we are having our wedding reception in her country as well. Does anyone know how long it takes to receive a PR card in the mail for the first time? We are hoping it comes before she plans on going back to get everything ready for our wedding.

64 calendar days plus mailing time:

with due respect to scylla would like to add a bit,...by looking at the timeline shown at CIC web, an immigrant landing today can just have a tentative idea of the processing time his card may take as the the timeline reflected only shows that PR card of someone who landed 64 days back is ready by now. In other words you only come to know about the processing time of your card once it is ready :)

But as no one has a crystal ball to peer into the future, that is the best answer anyone can give.

I landed Dec 19, got my card in the mail on Monday morning, Feb 24th.

Thanks.
yeah are getting a little nervous as the wife and I plan on going back to ecuador to do our wedding recepion. She is leaving a little earlier in 2 weeks. So will have been here just over 9 weeks am debating weather we should look at getting a travel document for her or try and put in for urgent processing to see if that could help.

I read on other post about looking somewhere to see if it has been mailed out already? does anyone know where to look into this or a contact number for them.

Thanks in advanced
