Hi Everybody

Thanks for taking the time to read this and apologies if I am repeating previous threads. However, I haven't been able to find a definitive answer to my questions.

We submitted our application May 2012 (with medical reports etc) and last month we paid the RPRF after getting a request for in February 2013 (I know we should have done it all at once but hindsight is a wonderful thing)!

I have two multifaceted questions:

1. How far do you think we are from having our visa granted and how will they do this? Do they request your passport and send it back to you with a visa in it? Checking on line it says

"Permanent Residence
We received Cxxxxxxxx's application for permanent residence on July 27, 2012.

We started processing Cxxxxxxxxs's application on February 8, 2013.

Medical results have been received."

The current processing time for an Outside application in London UK is 10 months but I'm presuming this includes the time from July 2012 to February 2013, am I right?

My second question is about POE and settlement

2. Can you change where you want to live? We applied stating BC as that is where my father in law lives but we are now also considering AB as that is where my mother in law lives.
Obviously, we don't have a problem with landing in BC but will there be a restriction on us meaning that we will have to live only in BC and we can't move?

Thanks very much for your help and advice

Time starts from when your file is transferred from CPC-M to London. You should have got an email that the sponsor was approved and file was sent to London, so this is where the London outland time starts ticking. You'd get more feedback on possible time to your COPR, in the dedicated London thread.

You can land in any province you want, it doesn't matter (as long as not Quebec, since they have an extra requirement).

It may be beneficial to go to Alberta as you would get healthcare right away (not sure about BC). Just have to make sure if you use healthcare, you intend to live in the province at least 6 months before considering moving.
