Time after BG in progress

Guys, I am in Canada as a tourist until Tuesday. It's awesome here. My status changed to background check in progress on Wednesday. How long do you think it will be until a decision is made? Any chance of me being able to apply for the PR card here in case something awesome happens on Monday?

Generally, it depends on a variety of factors, including the program you have applied for, the VO that is processing your application, and how many things in your application actually need to be investigated.
For me, it was literally an hour or so of BG Check In Progress before I got my PPR- for some people, it can be 6-8 weeks, unless you are CEC, in which case the file is supposed to go into BG checking very early in processing, and is supposed to stay that way until a decision is made on your profile.
