I have read a few posts that said persons were rejected because of lack of ties to Canada or some thing of that sort....how do I prove someone is my friend?

TRV is more dependent on how strong your ties are to your home country and your purpose of travel.

If an invitation letter is given by a friend then you have no way to prove your relationship with them, the only thing that will support your application is financial strength, your own travel history, and your ties to your home country. The host can mention in their invitation letter how well they know you (e.g. number of years, how you met them) etc.

Good luck!

People get rejected because of lack of ties to their home country, not lack of ties to Canada.

Agreed. People are rejected because their ties to Canada are too strong and their ties to their home country are not strong enough.

Thanks for the reply....it's just that on some threads I saw persons saying they had to send the person inviting them birth certuficate to prove they were related to the them...so I was worried about that
