I am likely moving to Collinwood. I would love to get remarks on some employers - other than tourism. Also housing prices for single family homes - how's the market? Especially near town... we'd like to live within a half mile of town. We have a school in mind. and I'd love to hear what folks are doing.

Finding employment will be fairly difficult. This area does not have any major industry, just service and tourism. Housing is pricey, average small 3bdrm home is around $300K, larger homes are approx $400-500k.
I know the area a bit as my parents are about 20 min from Collingwood. One thing this area has going for itself, it's really, really beautiful and it is growing.

Might I suggest Alliston - in between Collingwood and Toronto. It's growing. Fairly industrious. Decent housing prices (likely to go up soon).
