the procedure for inviting the wife to Canada

Dear members of the forum,
I would be happy to get informative reply to my query. I have received a position for post-doctoral work in Quebec, Canada (temporary work permit). I am non Canadian. Could you please, advise me the procedure for inviting my wife to Canada to live together with me throughout my work permit period? Just wonder if someone of you had similar case.
