Hello people,

I am a just a little bit concerned or perhaps i am not well informed. Is the economic crisis in the US affecting Canadian immigration ? if yes, how?

Thanks for your answers.

an interesting question

from a personal perspective, I'd really like to see an effect on the queues of applicants, but from a realistic viewpoint I doubt there will be any benefits

i know that quite a few people are finding times hard in Canada and are moving back to their home countries, but for those like me who are waiting for their chance to emigrate, it's unlikely that they will withdraw their applications until maybe the last minute when they are required to front up with the money for the issue of visas

but then again, maybe the worsening job prospects in Country XYZ will result in more people looking for a better life elsewhere

and, by the way, you are misinformed, this is a world-wide econimic crisis, not just affecting the USA

Thanks alot for your replies.

Another Question, do you think it is because of the economic crisis that made the Canadian government to bring out a list of occupations that are highly in need in Canada?

Here is my fear, i was thinking that, Canadian embassies in collaboration with the Federal Government, maybe slowing down immigration coz of the economic crisis, i mean slowing down the issuance of visas, coz the question would be, what would people go and do in Canada giving that the economy is bad ? no jobs, no money to pay workers etc .i wondered this might have an effect on their decisions to issue Permanent Residence visas to immigrants.

Thanks
