Ok so i want to share my fiances crazyyy story because i am hoping someone on here would know anything about what the hell we can do about it.....

When my fiance, Joe came to america he was 1 yr old- his mother was 18 and they came here illegally throught Canada.....they were smuggled in....

Now joe is 29 years old and still here (illegally) - his mom got married in 99 and has her green card but he keeps getting denied- he has had 4 lawyers and still geting denied constantly........we are guessing after 9/11 everything changed.....

I am a permanant resident here and just filed for my citizenship, my whole fam are citizens already.....we plan to marry in 09' i should be a citizen then.....

just last week we spoke to a new lawyer and they told us that if he came her illegally he will not be recieving anything even if he marrys me when im a citizen!!!!!!!!!!

she says because he doesnt have a i 94 which is a document stating that he was inspected when he came here.......

even if we got italy and get married there and he gets a 90 visa to come back with me and we file the paperwork here she said on the paperwork they ask where he lived the past 5 years....if he says heere in america they will ask for his i 94 which he dont have....if he tells them he lived in italy and they investigate then he will go to jail for fraud probably......... WE ARE SOOOO LOST---- i feeel so horrible for him its like there is not right answer.......i feel like there should be a exception to him because he had no choice tbut to come here u know.....he was a infant......

does anyone know anything else....

Yes, some things did change as a result of 9/11 and also as a result of the backlash against illegal immigration. Foreign nationals now have to return home to be sponsored - even if they get married in the U.S.

GWB has been working on an amnesty of sorts for illegals. It may or may not get passed. But it will probably have a better chance under a Democratic government.

Anyway, this forum is intended for Canadian visas and immigration. You might try looking to one that caters to U.S. immigration.

well the reason why i came here is because he went through canada......legally.....so would it be any difference if he went to get his i94 from canada or something
