Hi
I'm 35 year old temporary foreign worker, my work permit will expire on oct 11, still couldn't find any LMIA yet and my employer can't apply any new LMIA as he is above the Caps. I decide to go for study permit and one of the designated learning institution will ready to give me a LOA. Already have enough funds into my account for tuition fees and for living expenses..but still worrying..are that enough things to get approve my study permit..please guide me...please

Thnks!

Hi dh5689,

You can apply your workpermit extension without having lmo, before expire your workpermit. So you can keep your status as Temporary Foreign worker till cic take final decision on your workpermit extension appilication. Also you can work with same employer till get decision from cic (you can get your decision almost three months). The status will call as implied status. If you work in the implied status the period will be counted for one year experience by cic for apply PR under cec.

you can read and understand question and answer in following links

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/extend-stay.asp

In the mean time you can attend IELTS. you can check you needed ielts band score in following links

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/language.asp

Get sufficient score and apply PR under cec with your one year canadian experience. If you wish You can study before you get your PR. After get your pr you can work without any restriction with your canadian college credential

May i know where you working in which NOC Code

Best of luck

Thnks for your rply...but i'm wondering how can i apply for work permit extension without having lmo...obviously it vl get refuse...yeah i know i can buy some time with that implied status but still finding lmia is very hard nowadays..,.i can't even apply for PR as i'm working as in low skill job in alberta (NOC -6641)..
I heard study permit is good option though, that's wondering what should i do for getting study permit..

To be approved for study permit you must demonstrate that you are a genuine student and that you have strong ties to your home country and no plans on remaining in Canada long term. Can you do that?

Before 3 years ago i applied for my study permit from Philippines but they refused it saying that i dnt have sufficient funds to support my education here and family in back home...i'm single mother and i have one son in philippines.. i guess thats enough to show them as i have strong ties to my home country and my purpose of staying here is only study...what do u think??.
