My partner (Canadian) and i (Australian) are currently looking into PR through the common law avenue. I've previously used my working visa and we are currently living in the U.K, have been for the past 8 months.

Due to some confusion, if we apply for PR from outside of Canada, am i eligible to apply for a temporary work visa allowing me to work while i wait for my PR to be accepted?

In contrast, if we were to move to Canada and apply from within and i got a 'visitor visa', would i be eligible for a temporary work visa?

You cannot apply for an OWP with an outland app. However, have a look at whether you qualify for IEC.

Yes, if you come to Canada and apply inland, you can apply for an OWP as well.

Even though i've already used up my work permit previously?

Didn't see that in your original post. IEC is out then.

You can apply inland with an OWP if you come to Canada or apply outland and come to Canada when PR is approved.
